There’s a light pole on the street, always birds are sitting on top. No matter when you drive by. Why?

It’s close to the zoo, a tunnel with a bike path, a busy intersection, a large water fountain, rose garden and there’s a botanical garden across the street.
It’s always just this one light post. The ones on the same street don’t have birds on them all the time.

How can I do more for the birds in my garden?

I say garden but really it’s a tiny (2 meters by 3 meters) cobbled courtyard. It’s walled off and has plants round the perimeter, mostly year long greens, ivy and some seasonal flowers.
There’s a small fountain in the wall which has fresh water.
