Solar Water Fountains And Their Use in Gardens

A solar water fountain has two components, which are responsible for it’s proper functioning. The first one is the water cascade through which water flows. This entirely depends upon the design itself and difference largely in every fountain.
The second part is the mechanism behind the fountain cascade, which throws the water through the cascade. This includes a submersible water pump, which runs on electricity and pushes the water upward, which eventually flows, thorough the cascade in to the bottom reservoir again.
In solar water fountain the electricity required for the water pump is generated using a solar cell attached to the pump and is an external attachment. A 6″ X 8″ solar panel is attached to the pump using a cable.
When the solar cell is exposed to direct sunlight it converts the sunlight into electrical energy, which runs the pump. For proper functioning of the pump it is necessary that the solar cell receive clear and direct sunlight all day long. If you have a cloudy kind of a weather then the pump may not function properly because the solar cell will not be able to generate enough electricity due to lack of enough sunlight.
The solar cannot store electricity that is why it is impossible to use the solar water fountain during night hours. To overcome this problem many solar fountains have an arrangement of direct AC adapter connection so that you can run it indoors during night hours.
Solar water fountains are a grate way to save energy and at the same time get the same kind of enjoyable atmosphere a standard fountain can generate. I urge you to try it out in your backyard. You will not only save money by using a natural alternative instead of electricity but at the same time end up making you garden a beautiful place to spend some quality time with friends and family members.
