Hypothetically speaking, if you could build your own dream house in heaven, what would it be?

Last night, being bored, I wrote details of my own dream house:

Contemporary. Spacious. Natural light everywhere. Overlooking a sea from the cliff. The beach end of the house faces west. Secluded. The house is for one occupant, two-three maximum.

Private beach below. Wooden stairs lead down from the cliff to the boardwalk that connects to the jetty, where my yacht moors. Boat shack containing canoes and kayaks. Sea glass in abundance.

Three story, with greenhouse and observatory on the roof. Master bedroom will be in a indoor atrium, which is from the second floor to the third floor. Inclosed by floor to ceiling glass window that commands the view of the beach.

Third floor: Library, with the staircase leading to the roof. It has rare collections of art books, novels, art, science and National Geographic magazines, and a section devoted to comic books, mangas and animes.

Second floor: bedroom, art studio, mini bar, private gallery. The bedroom and the art studio connects openly, with glass ceiling above. Contemporary wooden staircase leads from art studio to the balcony of the third floor library.

Lavatory next to bathroom, shares the view of the beach. Toilet bowl should be facing the view, so while I’m defecating I’ll have something beautiful to look at (like sunset, the blue horizon or stars at night).

First floor: Bathroom, living room, billiard room, game room, PC room, kitchen, dining area, guest bedroom. The garage connects to dining area.

The front door and the garage door leads into the walled courtyard, with heavily secured parameter: security camera, guard station, sensory detecter, and iron gate.

The courtyard contains a rock garden, and a zen-like fountain. Gravel car road leads from the garage through the iron gate.

Ground area: Sauna, connected to the house. Biking and hiking trail that leads into wildlife area. Marsh not far, with a boat shack that contains kayaks.

The platform juts out from the base of the second floor, over the cliff. The library on the third floor overlooks it through the glass. The master bedroom area is behind the platform, separated by the glass sliding doors. The platform is long and wide enough to have a outdoor pool, an equipment shack (which is against the house), and a fire pit.

Hypothetically speaking, you got way to much time on your hands.

A little house on a hill with a little red door and a wispy spiral of smoke coming out of the chimney.

  11. Kan Pitter says:

Aside from the wall of text, my dream house would include a 100 inch plasma screen TV, a hottub (for those long stressful days where all you do is worship and praise God), and I might throw in a universal library.

  12. I Need Coffee says:

A small poolside home with gorgeous, dark haired men attending my every whim.
Actually, I’m pretty flexible on the house if the men are there. I don’t even really “need” the house.

  13. Skipjack says:

12 person hot tub… and free liquor.

How much are contractors in Heaven?

  14. Mr NiceGuy^2 says:

I’d have the whole first floor made of cooked meats and sausages, the second floor would be potatoes, rice and pasta, and the third floor would be fruits and vegetables and the attic would be made of desserts.
With hot and cold running beverages of all kinds.

  15. Magilla says:

I like your style. I’ll have a house like yours but not exactly the same.

  16. Annsan_In_Him says:

No need to be hypothetical – my dream home in heaven will have been anticipated by God Himself, who will have a mansion all ready for me to move into. Every last detail will delight me, for my heavenly Father knows me better than I know myself. Jesus promised this when He said, “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you.” (John 14:1-2) I can hardly wait to see it!

  17. Oli says:

I wouldn’t have a house. The ground would be soft and comfortable. The nights silent and cool. I would watch the millions of stars as I fall asleep. During the day I walk the beautiful gardens and help God with his work. Talk with my family and friends.
I don’t care about a house. A house does not bring happiness.

  18. Pangel - Love and Peace says:

I know my dream house very well … I picture it often

it is a small white cottage , surrounded with a small overgrown garden
the kitchen window overlooks the garden and there is a table just window height , so I can rest my arm on

the house is in the middle of a field , with nothing else around for miles
the field is filled with dandelions and a small brook runs through it
it is bordered with trees all around

  19. Joe from WI says:

I would like an apartment with about 1,200 sqare feet in a prime location, which means it is in walking distance to the grocery, coffee shop, pub, seaside, bicycle paths, and so on. I’d like something with very old decor but the apartment will have modern contraptions. I can’t decide if I prefer Amsterdam or Brussels.

  20. StandW2Fists says:

I wouldn’t want to build a dream house in “heaven” … I am currently in flesh , per scripture “crossing-over” into the heavenly realms disconnected from earthly realms is not for flesh.

My dream house while on earth and in flesh, would be to have my family united together under one roof … with a husband who would want to be a provider/lover, children that could be children and be happy and playful, and for the first time in this lifetime … to find a real friend and a level of security.

  21. Red Rose: Beauty & Purest Purity says:

It would have design of vintage and romantic – roses and satin and lace and rich Technicolour (hey, it´s Heaven!) – and Gothic stuff: pictures of misty gaslit streets, graveyards and castles. Excellent library, music and DVD collection. Wonderful and lush and dazzlingly clean without any effort.

  22. *LM* says:

A small stone house with a lot of windows and a bright blue door. :-)

  23. Rallie Florencio C says:

Keep dreaming for it will not happen that way
You can never build a dream house in heaven but you can make heaven inside your house if you make it your “peaceful home”.

  24. jennifer a says:

A Victorian mansion with turrets and a wrap around porch over looking a lake.
Inside: A huge great room filled with antiques, renaissance paintings with gold frames. A spiral staircase leading to the second floor, My bedroom would have a Tiffany stained glass ceiling and huge brass bed. My bathroom would be all marble with a large sink with etched mirrors above and a huge Jacuzzi. I would want no kitchen since it is heaven I could order take out 24/7. I would have a phone in every room and I would have Jesus on speed dial. I’d call him every morning for breakfast and we would have Dunkin Donuts coffee and IHOP pancakes and he’d talk about the old days. Then I’d fill up the jacuzzi and he’d walk on water.

  25. New Creation says:

It would be the place that Christ has gone to prepare for me.
I who could not save myself from sin most certainly do trust the Saviour to make for me a home far more glorious than my mind can yet conceive of.
